Tokyo Fashion News 63 | FashionTV

youtube.com TOKYO – FashionTV highlights the very best of Tokyo fashion with its Tokyo Fashion News segment. First, a look at the Hisui Fall 2011 collection. Hisui’s head designer Hiroko Ito said the collection was inspired by a natural dimension–as well as elements of the sun, moon, clouds, and earth. She represented those elements through colors, textures, and embellishments like pillowed pieces added to skirts. Next, Christian Dada held its very first runway show. Designer Masanori Morikawa said dressing models was a hard job because his small brand is typically not used to a big to-do that comes with runway shows, but that he hoped his collection will be a bright spot after the natural disaster. His clothes were embroidered and extravagant and models were intricate helmets on their heads and black pads on lacy garments because Morikawa wanted to highlight people that were effected by the country’s civil wars. Finally, Tasaki is a well-known jewelry brand and it held an event for its project Timeless Message. Toshikaza Tajima, the brand’s CEO and board director spoke of the Ginza store which first opened last year and how he wanted to make that event a new start for the brand. The CEO wanted the brand to keep its Japanese elements and hired well-known designer Thakoon to become creative director and make sure the oriental elements are mainted in coming collections.

I think we are so used to people being big, that when we actually see people that are actually thin, and naturally thin, and beautiful that we think that they’re anorexic. People GET OVER IT, NATURALLY THIN PEOPLE EXIST!!!

Yeah, but 10 shows per season. During those shows I am sure they eat to sustain themeselves but when they are living their lives and going to go-sees. I am sure they are not eating like horses.

I don’t understand why the stylist says that anorexic models have no energy. Implying that none of the models who participate in back to back shows are anorexic. Based on this stylist’s logic, I guess none of these models are on drugs to maintain their energy level.
